Dean says:
“I wrote the song in 2011 when the idea came from hearing people say so ‘it is what it is’ and it’s still very relevant today. It’s a fun song and if you’re like me and personally struggle with ‘letting go’ when things don’t seem to go right, then the song sentiment will resonate with you.
Verse 2 is a true-life experience for me and one of life’s many lessons that sometimes good things can come from bad, to let go of the upset, anger etc., because sometimes ‘it is what it is’!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
