Canadian country sensation, Dan Davidson, is a man of many talents: singer, songwriter and producer. The first single, “Won’t Forget”, with ABC Music is an all-star country collaboration. The track includes not only Dan but also fellow Canadian country heavyweight, Tim Hicks, and Australia’s very own Golden Guitar winner, Max Jackson.

The single will be the first track released from Davidson’s forthcoming album release, “Nineteen Eighty Something – Australian Special Edition”, available digitally April 12th. For Dan, “This record was inspired by the songs I heard on the radio growing up; the songs that transcended genre and era. I wanted to try and bottle the feeling I got from Brian Adams, Don Henley, and Bruce Springsteen – and make it country. The album will be the precursor to Dan’s arrival in Australia for April tour dates including co- headlining at Stock Route Festival in Dubbo and the Beer Shed in Sydney.

‘Only A Cowgirl’ is a romantic three-quarter time traditional feeling cowboy waltz that paints a picture of a lovely lady who is equally at home on the range on horseback, as she is working big business deals in the city. The love of the range on horseback wins. Ultimately, the song depicts determination, and versatility that attracts a cowboy to his cowgirl. ‘Only A Cowgirl’ is the result of Larry sitting down with Nashville hitmakers, Kirsti Manna and Bill Diluigi, in Nashville.

Following the success of her family project SToRer, Sara Storer is back with a solo track with what can be described as one of the most accessible songs of her career.

In a departure from character based or rural inspired songs, ‘Under Darwin Stars’ draws on themes of love and life in the city where she now lives.

‘Dust Kids’, a track from the SToRer album which featured her sibling Greg Storer and his daughters, Bonnie and Pip , took out the Golden Guitar for Bush Ballad of the Year at the Country Music Awards of Australia held in Tamworth in January this year.

Never one to stand still, Sara travelled to Tasmania late last year to record with long-time award-winning producer Matt Fell, and ‘Under Darwin Stars’ is the first offering from these creative sessions.

When asked about the inspiration behind ‘Under Darwin Stars’, Sara enthused, “There is so much to love about a hometown or a place where you’ve lived. I wanted to take a few of the things I treasure about Darwin and the north and put it in a song for all. Darwin, like anywhere in Australia, has its own unique things. The long miles, laska, the lightning and many more things are what I love about Darwin.”

Sara’s talents are not limited to singing, songwriting and performing. In between recording and touring Sara can usually be found in her home studio with her paints and canvasses creating some stunning pieces including the cover artwork for ‘Under Darwin Stars’. Many of her paintings and prints will soon be available for purchase from her website.

‘Under Darwin Stars’ is the first of several planned releases in 2024 ahead of a full album in 2025. Sara will take to the road in March for a series of shows under the banner of the Ricochet Community Recovery Tour. This is the third time that Sara has performed for the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal where she takes her show to towns in Australia that have suffered the effects of flood, bushfires, drought or more recently, economic downturn due to the pandemic.

Tori Forsyth releases her new single ‘All We Are’. This comes after the single ‘Good Enough’ and announcing her highly anticipated third studio album, All We Have Is Who We Are, which is scheduled for release on Friday May 3rd. The singer-songwriter launched 2024 with a nomination for the 2024 Q Music Award for ‘Sometimes’, and the release of her previous single ‘Good Enough’, featuring backing vocals from mentor and friend Kasey Chambers.

Opener ‘All We Are’ cracks open the album in rollicking fashion, thrumming bass and drums lifting as Tori’s vocals soar up the register. Nashville-based Aussie artist Wesley Dean shares a special version of his new song “Blood Brothers”. This full-band rendition is a preview of the emotionally charged acoustic version that’s featured on his much-anticipated upcoming LP “Music From Crazy Hearts” out April 26th.

Dean is hot off the back of the Crazy Hearts Across America Summer Tour where he and his family drove over 5000 miles from Nashville to Los Angeles in an RV via towns steeped in musical history playing shows off the beaten track; Memphis, New Orleans, Luckenbach, Marfa, Las Vegas, and more. With a director and cameraperson in tow, the tour was recorded as part of the upcoming feature Crazy Hearts: The Documentary, where “Blood Brothers” and the other nine album tracks complement the soundscape to Dean’s own story of breaking the industry mold to carve out his name independently.

With a touring drummer for a father, Larissa was raised on a tour bus surrounded by family and music. When Larissa was a toddler, she fell in love with country music as she and her father sang along to a worn-out cassette of George Strait while riding together in the combine on her family’s farm.

Mark Thornton is a multi-talented guitar player, producer, and engineer based in Nashville, Tennessee.

His experience as a professional guitarist began in the ’80s, in the Los Angeles country western scene, playing at the famous Palomino Club and the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum. Between 1997 and up until his death in 2008, Mark was the guitar player for guitar legend Jerry Reed, recording and touring with him throughout the country. While versatile in his playing, his true strength lies in classic fingerstyle guitar (as well as a variety of classic country styles) and being a master of tasteful simplicity and tone.

His studio, Sidekick Sound, was founded in 1994 and has been graced by great pickers and players over the years, including Jerry Reed, Paul Yandell, Marty Stuart, Chris Scruggs, Wylie and the Wild West, and the Davidson Brothers. His production roster includes producing and engineering records for CMH Records, The Pickin’ On series.

He currently plays in and around Nashville with his band “The Sidekicks”, and spends the rest of his time recording, producing, and engineering great records.

Since supporting Luke Combs on his sold out Australian arena tour, Lane has been on a roll with no signs of slowing down. Selling out his headline show at this year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival, nominated for the Golden Guitar New Talent of the Year award and CMC Rocks just around the corner, the timing and excitement surrounding the EP couldn’t be higher.

Familiar songs such as “Love In A Country Town” and ” Ain’t Too Much To Ask” feature in the six track EP and have already seen great success on the CountryTown National Airplay Charts (Love In A Country Town #4 and Ain’t Too Much To Ask #6 ) as well as streaming worldwide over 1.1M times.

Lane describes, “This EP is very much a long time coming for me. I’ve wanted to put music out for as long as I can remember, I just never felt like I had anything to say. That is until we recorded these songs. “Lane Pittman” is a pretty bold statement for a title but I think it’s appropriate, this EP is me. It’s who I am at this early stage, these stories are real, authentic and relatable to me. I’ve loved everything to do with making this EP and I hope the audience will connect to these the same way I have!”

Opening the EP is focus single ” Let’s Get Lots”; captivating, punchy and kick ass drums all throughout. “I love the vibe and almost carefree nature of this song! It’s about not taking it too seriously and living in the moment. Recording this song was a breeze and I loved every second of it. I don’t think there’s a song I’d rather launch the EP with than this one”, Lane shares. Written by U.S legends Eric Paslay, Daniel Ross and Andy Albert and produced by Red Curl and Greg Stace, “Let’s Get Lost ” on the surface is adventurous and carefree, yet also, a subtle reminder not to take life, or yourself too seriously – take a step back and get lost.

“I saw a picture of a man holding a sign that said “You can’t fix me, I’m not broken” and it made me remember what it was like growing up gay in country Victoria and that sense that there was something inherently wrong with me. The way that I walked, the way that I spoke – all of it put me in danger. But seeing that sign made me realise that there was nothing wrong with me to begin with. I wasn’t broken. There was nothing to fix.”

Brittany Elise Launches Into 2024 With First Written And Recorded Nashville Single, ‘Lucky’.

Ahead of another huge year which will see performances and tours in the US and Australia, Brittany Elise will release her first single of 2024, ‘Lucky’ on Friday, 8th March.

The Gympie Muster Australia Talent Search winner and Toyota Star Maker Australia finalist, wrote the song alongside hugely successful Nashville songwriters, Frank Barrier and Alayna Carroll, whilst in the United States.

Brittany Elise says the new track came to life after having a conversation about how small-town people can achieve big dreams but sometimes people forget the hard work that goes on behind the scenes when someone reaches success.

“I started thinking about how I started saving my pocket money from the age of 12 for my very first car, the many heartbreaks and let downs you may go through to find love, and the sacrifices and hard knocks that come with following a dream. The lyrics just flowed. What many of us consider to be luck, for a lot of people is a result of never-ending hard work and difficult choices,” said Brittany Elise.

The production of Lucky came to life in a Nashville studio working alongside Michael and Caleb Flanders. “The day in the studio was so special. I really wanted this song to be a true representation of the Nashville sound. The incredible musicians I was working with in Nashville, took my vision and created something magical,” said Brittany Elise.

It’s already been a huge start to 2024 with Brittany Elise named a finalist in the ICMA Awards for Female Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year. Her last single, ‘Get This Party Started’ hit #1 on the Australian radio charts.

Brittany Elise is on a roll with her electric performances, just completing a 30-show Something About This Town Australian tour in December 2023. Her festival appearances in 2023 included the 50th CMAFest in Nashville Tennessee, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster, Deni Ute Muster, NQ Rock’n Country, Airlie Beach Music Festival and Brisbane Ekka.

Just last month she played half a dozen shows at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, everything from stages to pavements, getting out there in front of people to showcase her songs and walked away with her first professional award and the title of the prestigious Tamworth Songwriters Association’s Novice Songwriter of the Year. Not interested in chasing stardom, for Mackenzie, music is a passion and an art and she takes inspiration from authentic and emotional artists like Chris Stapleton, Colter Wall and Sierra Ferrell.

“I’m really excited to be releasing music for the first time,” she explained. “For me the creative process of writing, recording and performing is what it’s all about and if people like what I’m doing as much as I am enjoying that process then that’s really what I’m hoping to achieve.”

Her first recording experience came late last year as part of a QUT project, followed by a session with producer Jared Adlam where Little Things was born.

“The studio was a really natural space for me and I really enjoy the creativity that studio space brings out,” said Mackenzie. “As an independent artist, you get used to doing so many shows and learning about the reaction your songs get, whether it’s in a cafe or on a bigger stage. The studio gives you the opportunity to take everything you’ve learned from road testing your songs with an audience and create something that represents who you are at a point in time.”

If Little Things is that representation, then Mackenzie May has an extraordinary future ahead. Little Things is an ear-worm, but maintains a country integrity that displays a musical wisdom that explains the accolades and interest that continue to grow over her burgeoning career.

Piper Rodrigues Rides High After 2024 Toyota Star Maker Finals And Releases ‘Watch Your Step’.

The new single from 2024 Toyota Star Maker Top 10 Finalist, Piper Rodrigues ‘Watch Your Step’, is a departure from the past and a step into a new direction. Co-written with Hayley Marsten and produced by Shane Nicholson, this alt-country song is fused with a dash of pop and is the soundtrack to a perpetual coming of age in the death of a first romance. Rodrigues captures the pop sensibilities, chaos without the calm and melancholy messaging from our favourite tracks of the early 2000’s, however, simultaneously tips her hat to the experimental sounds of the 60’s and 70’s via curious guitar parts and unique song structure. ‘Watch Your Step’ is an ode to the overthinker, a reminder that they aren’t alone. If people came with warning signs, this would be hers.

Piper hails from Newcastle and now calls Brisbane home. This exciting rising artist is constantly creating a unique and curious sound that blurs the line between commercial and alt-country, with dashes country, blues, and pop scattered throughout. She is a dedicated and passion artist with a drive to take her career all the way. Growing up an only child, she found music at an early age.

She learnt her first guitar chords form her grandfather, John Manners who had a deep love for the craft and history as a member of Ray Brown and the Whispers’, and a career in community radio. Her teen years were spent writing songs and diving deeper into her passion for playing guitar and singing. She has since racked up many achievements as a graduate of the 2020 CMAA Academy of Country Music, runner-up in Today’s Country 94 One 2022 Brand New Star Competition and recognised as a finalist in the 2024 Toyota Star Maker Competition. She has support Hayley Jensen, Amber Lawrence, Hussy Hicks, Ashleigh Dallas, Allison Forbes, Tori Forsyth, and Catherine Britt.

Her four singles have debuted in the AMRAP Regional Top 10 with her most recent ‘Exit Wound’ debuting at #2, and gained various Apple Music playlists.
