Courtney Keil feat. Gina Jeffreys – Worn In

COUNTRY SONGSTRESS COURTNEY KEIL TEAMS UP WITH GINA JEFFREYS FOR NEW SINGLE ‘WORN IN’

Country music songbird Courtney Keil teams up with the incomparable Gina Jeffreys on her latest single, ‘Worn In’.

Courtney often fuses the sounds of 90s country queens with a contemporary edge; a style in which her silky vocal certainly sounds ‘worn in’. The nostalgic production also serves as the perfect backdrop for a duet with Jeffreys – a 90s country queen in her own right.

Although Courtney admits the song initially wasn’t intended to be a duet, eventually signing on Jeffrey’s was a no-brainer. “The more I came back to the song, I couldn’t help but hear a strong female duet voice on it. The beautiful, Gina Jeffreys, who of course is my mentor and dear friend agreed to collaborate with me on the track.”

The pair sound as if they’ve sung the song for years, thanks to a real-life friendship reminiscent of the song’s title. “I first met Courtney back in 2020 just as the world was shutting down due to the pandemic,” recalls Jeffreys. Unable to collaborate in person, they took to Zoom and a friendship sparked. “Courtney and I became great friends, spending many hours writing and talking during the pandemic. I think Courtney is an old soul and we feel like we have known each other for a hundred years, so when she asked me if I’d like to be a guest on her new song Worn In – I was truly honoured.”

The song gets its airtight production courtesy of Rod McCormack; multi-award-winning producer, long-time collaborator with Courtney and husband to Jeffreys. Within his Central Coast studio, The Music Cellar, the future hit took shape. “I couldn’t be happier with the result – it gave me goosebumps the first official listen through,” says Courtney.

‘Worn In’ is the anticipated follow-up to Courtney’s single, ‘All About You’; a passionately charged up-tempo track, which rose to #28 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay charts. Recently the singer-songwriter has received many accolades, including ‘Best Female Vocal’ at the 2023 & 2024 Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards.

On the road she’s warmed up stages for some the best in the biz – Adam Harvey, The Whitlams Black Stump and her duet partner, Gina Jeffreys. Most recently she delighted audiences in opening slots for superstars Brain Cadd and Karise Eden. Later this year she’ll join a stellar line-up at the revered Gympie Music Muster in Queensland.

Courtney Keil is an artist with “lyrical depth, emotional connection and ability to create engaging music that speaks the truth” (Beat Magazine). Her latest offering has that in spades. “It’s a heartfelt lyric that really resonates with me, with a traditional country sound that I just love. Makes me wanna hug my old friends and never throw out those old boots!” agrees her collaborator, Gina Jeffreys, whose voice blends stunningly with Courtney Keil’s on this timeless track.

Andrew Farriss – Something Stronger

Andrew Farriss AM, the multi-platinum, award-winning songwriter of INXS fame, continues his stellar career with the release of his new single, “Something Stronger”.

A blazing fusion of country and rock, “Something Stronger” captures the raw energy and reckless abandon of youth, fuelled by hot emotions and a thirst for life’s wilder moments.

“I wanted to record a song about grit and passion,” says Farriss, and indeed Farriss’s signature storytelling and evocative melodies have again created a powerful anthem, evoking a sense of nostalgia for youthful adventures, filled with cheap whiskey, burning rubber, and the thrill of chasing dreams.

“We drank cheap whisky burnin’ down our teenage throats. A fire on the end of a hand-rolled smoke.”

“These words capture the raw energy and recklessness of youth for many past and present,” Farriss explains, “the deep yearning for something more intense… something stronger.”

“Something Stronger” is a taste of what’s to come from Farriss’s highly anticipated second solo album, “The Prospector”, due in early 2025.

“The songs on ‘The Prospector’ are about searching for the gold in life – reaching out for something higher,” Farriss explains. “It’s about digging deep inside, and encouraging others to look for the real treasures in life.”

The accompanying music video is a visual feast that captures the song’s essence – “fast cars, open roads, burning embers, a welcome home and raised glasses,” he smiles.

Farriss kicked off his solo career with an acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2021 featuring the high-rotation radio hits “Come Midnight” and “Good Momma Bad”, with “You Are My Rock” achieving a Top-100 Billboard Indicator chart hit in the USA. In 2022, he earned a Golden Guitar nomination for ‘Heritage Song of the Year’ for ” With The Kelly Gang.”

Accolades and global success aside, at the heart of it all, Andrew is a dedicated family man who has spent the past 30 years living and working on an established farming property near Tamworth, where he raises cattle and grows grains.

Beyond his solo work, Farriss continues to write and produce music for other artists, recently receiving notable acclaim for his collaboration with Yirrmal, a North-East Arnhem Land songwriter. His contributions have been recognised with numerous awards, including a Producer of the Year ARIA Award and an induction into the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016.
Fans can catch Farriss on tour across Australia in 2024 and 2025, where he’ll perform “Something Stronger” alongside his acclaimed solo material plus his songwriting classics.

“Get ready to buckle up for an exhilarating ride,” he says, “as we hit the road and ignite the stage.”

When asked what his secret is to having a positive outlook on life, Brand replied, “Every journey has ups, downs and sideways moments. But for me it’s all about that journey and never about the end destination. Even more importantly, its who you’re on that journey with. I’ll sum it up with the lyrics from the chorus, ’Destination I don’t care. We could wind up anywhere Coz the best part is the Gettin’ There.”

PETTY COUNTRY: A COUNTRY MUSIC CELEBRATION OF TOM PETTY: OUT NOW

COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME® AND MUSEUM UNVEILS TOM PETTY ADDITION HIGHLIGHTING HIS CONNECTIONS TO COUNTRY MUSIC

Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, the tribute album lovingly curated by some of legendary musician Tom Petty’s closest friends and collaborators in Country and Americana music, is out now via Big Machine Records in partnership with the Tom Petty Estate. An inside look at the story behind the album was also released today-watch “Welcome To Petty Country” HERE.

“There’s a saying in Nashville ‘it all begins with a song’,” says Bluegrass pioneer and featured tribute artist Marty Stuart. “Well, in this case, it begins with the song and the songwriter. I don’t think anybody can challenge Tom Petty when it comes to songwriting. He touched the American heart-critics, fans, the musicians, everyone agrees on Tom’s songs. There’s just a special magic about him.”

Stuart continues, “It’s incredibly rare to find musicians who can navigate and completely understand the intersection of Rock & Roll, Country, Gospel and Folk. That’s what Tom (Petty) & The Heartbreakers did so well. They’re America’s greatest Rock & Roll band.”

Executive produced by Petty’s close confidant, 2x Grammy® award-winner George Drakoulias (Barbie, The Black Crowes, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), with 2x Grammy award-winner Randall Poster (Killers of the Flower Moon, Skyfall, Wes Anderson) and Scott Borchetta (Big Machine Label Group), Petty Country finds some of the most lauded voices in Country music exploring the extensive Petty catalog and putting their own personal touches on some of his greatest hits. Highlights include a handful of songs by Petty’s longtime friends and collaborators, such as George Strait, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson with Lukas Nelson, Bluegrass pioneer Marty Stuart and The Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench. Contemporary Country superstars Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Wynonna Judd, Carly Pearce, Lady A, Margo Price, Rhiannon Giddens-who most recently played banjo and viola on Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”-Thomas Rhett and Lainey Wilson also pay tribute to the late musician with their own spin on fan favorites.

In celebration of the new music, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Tom Petty: Where I Come From is open now. The special showcase highlights how the late rocker’s southern roots shaped his music and his continued influence on new generations of Country music artists, featuring several artifacts seen in the “Southern Accents” music video, from Petty’s wide-ranging and generation-defining career-such as tour assets from his 2001 Way Out West tour, an iconic Nudie suit inspired “Planets” blazer worn famously during his 1985 Southern Accents tour, “Southern Accents” handwritten song lyrics, western style wardrobe pieces worn on and off stage and Petty’s Gretsch 6130 Roundup Western electric guitar. The display is included with museum admission and runs through summer 2025 as an extension of their acclaimed “Western Edge” exhibit.

Additionally, Nashville’s downtown will transform this weekend into Petty Country, USA to honor the icon’s legacy and the album’s release. Beginning at midnight on June 21 through Sunday, June 23, dozens of bars and honky tonks around Broadway will host hour-long “Petty Power Hours,” give away exclusive merch and more.

Tom Petty, albeit widely known for his rocker grit and California anthems, is often credited as contemporary Country music’s biggest Rock influence. A Gainesville, Florida native, Petty straddled the American coasts, leaving his native Florida for his adopted home of Los Angeles, while keeping one foot firmly rooted in the south. The region’s influence can be heard throughout Petty’s discography, with lyrics about growing up in the south paired with his famous airtight melodies and rough vocal character that defines the state of Country music today.

Petty’s deep roots in Country music saw collaborations and long-lasting friendships with a number of the genre’s greatest artists, including Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash (The Heartbreakers were the backing band on Cash’s Unchained), June Carter Cash, Marty Stuart, John Prine, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson. Today, Country songwriters consistently reference their love and admiration for Petty, and in many ways, how Petty’s influence shaped their own sound.

Over his 40-year career, Tom Petty became one of the biggest cultural icons in the world. In addition to the 13 studio albums he made with the Heartbreakers, Petty recorded three solo albums, including the acclaimed Full Moon Fever and Wildflowers . Petty was also a member of the supergroup, Traveling Wilburys, and in the pre-Heartbreakers band, Mudcrutch. Hailed as one of the greatest Rock artists of all time, Petty’s list of achievements include multiple Grammy Award winner, 80+ million records sold, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Tom Petty passed away in 2017 shortly after completing his 40th anniversary tour, but his music continues to reach fans, both new and old, around the world today.

Inspired by the legends-Johnny Cash, Hardy, Eric Church, and Zach Bryan-Spigle’s musical journey began amidst the rolling hills and verdant landscapes of Kentucky. From these fertile grounds, he absorbed the essence of country and rock, honing his craft with a passion and talent that belies his tender years. Now, armed with an arsenal of raw talent and an unquenchable fire, Spigle is ready to blaze a trail through the music industry.

Move forward with the conviction of a true pioneer, for the world awaits your next triumph.

As Damon shares with us in his own words “I he was inspired to write the song by not only going through personal experiences with toxic relationships but also by seeing and hearing other people going through the same things as me, the song is my way of explaining why not to do this and why not to go back ever again because it will only hurt you in the end, honestly I think of my little cousins when I sing this because as they get older and get to an age where they start having serious relationships I want them to always have something to help them understand there not alone. Overall, this song is just an experience that not only I’ve been through but other people as well. I’ve been there and there are songs I’ve listened to that help with breakups and wanting to get back with exes and that sort of thing and my goal is for this song to be one of those songs that everyone can go and relate to.”

“Never Go Back Again” is just the beginning of Spigle’s sonic odyssey. His forthcoming EP promises a kaleidoscopic tapestry of sound, each track offering a glimpse into the artist’s soul and musical evolution. From heartfelt ballads to foot-stomping anthems, Spigle’s EP is a testament to the transformative power of storytelling and the human experience.

Nathan Lamont – I’m Calling Shotgun

NATHAN LAMONT SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO ‘I’M CALLING SHOTGUN’ + PERFORMING AT DENI UTE MUSTER

Country music rising star Nathan Lamont backs up his Top 20 hit ‘Skin to Skin’ today with a smooth and catchy new single ‘I’m Calling Shotgun’.

The mid-tempo track exudes a vibe that beckons you to extend your hand out the car window like an airplane soaring through open skies, evoking the carefree spirit of a road trip. From the amped up guitars and pounding drums to Nathan’s effortless vocal, the song emulates four-wheel freedom.

Co-written with producer Alex Mather, the pair cleverly bend lyrics about seizing the open road into a timeless live song. “We explored how we could expand on the meaning of the title name and the song’s narrative quickly evolved into being about a guy who was in love with a girl who was on the cusp of leaving a toxic relationship. The song’s chorus lists the things that they could do together if she was ready for someone new, and that he would be ‘calling shotgun’.”

They called on some of the best in the business to build the track, recording in the global epicentre for country music – Nashville, TN. Music City session musicians Sol Philcox-Littlefield (Electric Guitar), Evan Hutchings (Drums), Tim Marks (Bass), Tim Galloway (Acoustic) and David Dorn (Keys) came together to track the song in single session. Nathan later laid down his vocals at Alex Mather’s Only Hits Studio in Sydney.

The song’s music video, shot by Jeremy Minett of Eyes and Ears Creative, echo’s the lyric’s sentiment. “Choosing Jeremy was a no-brainer for me. Jeremy is not just a great guy, but a phenomenally talented videographer. We only had half a day to pull everything together and we had to use our time wisely.” The two wasted no time logging incredible footage of Nathan on a picturesque backroad, backlit by a fading golden sun.

“With the main footage of me singing all captured within the scope of a 15-20 minute window, Jeremy spent 1 – 2 hrs in the afternoon filming a young couple who portray the in-love couple”

‘I’m Calling Shotgun’ is the kind of super catchy country pop hit Nathan is becoming known for, and fans can see him performing the track live at his single launch event at Tilly’s in Wagga Wagga on Friday 12th July. His previous single ‘Skin to Skin’ peaked at #16 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay charts and remained in the Top 50 for 9 weeks straight. The Wiradjuri singer-songwriter was also recently recognised as a Top 5 finalist in the 2024 APRA AMCOS Professional Development Awards.

As a member of the prestigious Toyota Star Maker alumni, Nathan is no stranger to the stage. He’s supported previous winner Loren Ryan, as well as Australian legends Thirsty Merc, Taxiride and Morgan Evans. This year he makes his debut at the much-loved 2024 Deni Ute Muster.

Turning the ignition on a forever-young kind of freedom, MULTI-PLATINUM star Dustin Lynch hits the road in “Chevrolet”. With an assist from his BBR Music Group labelmate Jelly Roll, it’s a brand-new Country anthem with “classic” written all over it.

“There is something in the air in Nashville right now, where writers are on the same wavelength and doing cool things like interpolating classic songs into something new. When ‘Chevrolet’ came across our plate, it floored me. Everyone knows Dobie Gray’s ‘Drift Away’ – the melody of that song is timeless,” shares Lynch. “Having Jelly Roll on it adds an extra edge.”

Linc Phelps – Hundred Percent

LINC PHELPS GOES ‘HUNDRED PERCENT’ WITH HIS LATEST SINGLE

Queensland country rocker Linc Phelps, doesn’t do things in halves. Recently signing to Nybor Records, the singer-songwriter today unveils his new single ‘Hundred Percent’.

‘Hundred Percent’ is pure joy from the moment you press play. The sounds of old school country meet rock n’ roll swagger, as Linc invites us to go all in on life. “If ya gonna make a plan man, hundred percent / If ya gonna hit the road man, hundred percent.”

The song’s title arose between a conversation with Linc and producer, Gavin Carfoot. “Hundred Percent came about after my producer bought to my attention, how many times I say ‘Hundred Percent’ in my day-to-day conversations. I started thinking about what that means to me and basically, it’s about being “all in”. Whether its relationships, work, rest or play – just give it your all and be a Hundred Percent your authentic self.”

As the mastermind behind the sounds of new stars like James Johnston, Max Jackson and Melanie Dyer, Carfoot was without a doubt the man to bring Linc’s cheerful hit to life. Tracked with a live band at QUT in Brisbane, the recording expertly captures the energy of the performers in the room; a perfect sonic accompaniment to Linc’s message.

The new single follows from Linc’s recent triumph, ‘Sing A Little Louder’, which garnered additions to Apple Music’s ‘Country Risers’, ‘New Music Daily’, ‘Southern Craft’ and ‘Aussie Country’ editorial playlists. Dedicated to his son, who deals with autism, the single was the first to showcase Linc’s unique new sound.

As a regular fixture at the Gympie Music Muster, the powerhouse performer has long been wowing fans on stage. He’s recently brought his show to some of the countries most renowned stages at Groundwater Country Music Festival, Winton’s Way Out West Fest, Tamworth Country Music Festival and NQ’s Rock’n Country. This year the Gympie native returns once again to the Gympie Music Muster stage in August with his biggest show yet and will also be opening for label mates Darlinghurst at Bundaberg’s Oodies Café on 7th November.

Equal parts old school and contemporary country, with a little rock n roll, Linc Phelps has a sound that makes you move. ‘Hundred Percent’ is just that. Pure positivity in music and lyrics and irresistibly catchy.

Pairing his laid-back perspective with a vocal drenched in casual Country soul, Thomas Rhett has spent just over 10 years gathering 22 US Number 1s, 16 billion streams and armfuls of awards and through that time, he’s never remained static. With both songwriting prowess and charisma, his career has been fuelled by equal parts energy and emotion, to continually keep fans on their toes…and with ABOUT A WOMAN, he wants to put them on their feet.

Beginning today, fans can pre-order the album HERE ahead of its next track release, the irresistible “Gone Country,” out today. Listen to “Gone Country” HERE.

“From top to bottom, I wanted to exude joy and fun with this project – and really just make people move,” Thomas Rhett says, describing a set which takes timeless romantic nostalgia to Country’s progressive cutting edge. “I went into making this record with a fearless attitude, put my blinders on and my head down to try and make really fun music.”

Fourteen anthemic instant classics were the result, all but one co-written by Thomas Rhett, diverse in style but connected by a sense of movement. The tempos were kept high and the melodies tight, and while organic Country makes up the foundation, layers of retro ’80s sounds and thumping beats help him find new ways to do what he does so well – tribute a woman’s love. Now enjoying a life chapter that allows he and wife Lauren a little space to tend their romantic flame – the muse for so much of his work – the famous family man shines with renewed excitement.

“I feel like if you were to ask me what this record is about, the answer would be it’s about one woman, my wife, and it gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways,” he adds.

Produced primarily by Dann Huff and Julian Bunetta, the set begins with the lighthearted “Fool,” fusing whistled hooks to a hip-shaking rhythm, and opening the kinetic-Country floodgates before its already Top-30-bound lead single “Beautiful As You” explodes like a chain reaction of heart-pounding modern Country. Emotions run hot in the thumping, chill-Country standout “Overdrive,” while Thomas Rhett rides a romantic buzz until the sun comes up in the velvet smooth “After All The Bars Are Closed.” Tunes like “Gone Country” pair irresistible beats and a slow-burning acoustic groove for a tribute to the timeless attraction of Country life, and with the smouldering “Something ‘Bout A Woman,” he takes an approach he’s never before considered, exploring the soulful spot where Stevie Wonder meets The Rolling Stones. Likewise, the star-crossed sway of “Back To Blue” seems to build on the story laid out in roots classics like “Fishin’ In The Dark” – both melodically and lyrically – and while Thomas Rhett calls “What Could Go Right” his favourite track on the album, tracks like “Country For California” offer a rare-for-him look at heartbreak.

Thomas Rhett doesn’t do much heartbreak, but even so, with a howling monster of a sing-along chorus, “Don’t Wanna Dance” is as epic as heartbreakers get. Built around an interpolation of the Whitney Houston mega hit “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” it turns the iconic song’s joyful desire upside down. The set closes on its only ballad, “I Could Spend Forever Loving You,” as Thomas Rhett signs off with a promise as genuine as it is tender – and so spacious it’s almost exposed.

LARRY CANN – Rides You Want To Remember

2022 & 2023 ICMA Traditional Country Artist of the Year

Larry Cann has a passion for country music through a lifetime of country living. Fueled by many personal experiences, from the farm in Chinchilla, Queensland to competing across North America as a pro rodeo cowboy. Larry has lived the lifestyle of the lyrics he sings. Larry resides in Kingaroy, Qld and juggles music, radio, and announcing duties across the world from Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada.

Track Description – “Rides You Wanna Remember” is a flat out country rocker for the rodeo and swing dancing crowd. Inspired by the term of Cowboy Christmas across the USA and Canada when in late June through early July there is an abundance of rodeos cowboys and cowgirls chase the dream of success in North America. I worked a few Cowboy Christmas runs in the mid 90s while I was chasing the rodeo dream myself. This track has a real 90s country groove to it and fun to do live. A surefire pumping hit for anyone’s country rock playlist and those that like to swing it on the dancefloor.

Carly Pearce – hummingbird

Today, GRAMMY, CMA and ACM-Award winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce releases her highly anticipated fourth studio album hummingbird. Focus track: truck on fire.

Produced by Pearce, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne, hummingbird marks Pearce’s debut as a co-producer and fully represents her new musical chapter – one of forward motion.

Discussing her inspirations for the hummingbird album, Pearce says, “I have lived a lot of life in the last few years. Entering a new decade has brought a lot of maturity, growth, heartache, and healing. I am still a work in progress, but these songs represent my honesty, playfulness, and openness to keep growing.”

Following the success of her last studio album 29: WRITTEN IN STONE, Pearce fully leans into her authentic country sound encompassed by the symbolism of the hummingbird which represents the album’s themes of growth, humility, understanding, playfulness, and optimism.

Of the album’s title track, “hummingbird,” Pearce says, “When I wrote this song, I knew I wanted this to be the title of the album. This song plays on my bluegrass roots but also lyrically tells the story of the journey I am on of finding love. This is the most unapologetically ‘Carly’ song I’ve ever written.”

The full hummingbird track list is below, which includes Pearce’s GRAMMY®-nominated, Top-30 on AU Country Radio single “we don’t fight anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton.

ABOUT CARLY PEARCE:

Fiercely rooted in the classics, the girl who left her Kentucky home and high school at 16 to take a job at Dollywood has grown into a woman who embraces the genre’s forward progression. GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce lit a fire with her debut album Every Little Thing and she hasn’t slowed down since. Pearce’s ARIA-certified GOLD I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice won both the 2020 CMA Awards Musical Event and 2021 ACM Awards Music Event, plus ACM Single of the Year. Pearce, now a Grand Ole Opry and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame member, has come a long way from the pain she felt writing her critically acclaimed and commercially lauded third studio album 29 which includes Country Radio chart toppers “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde and “What He Didn’t Do.” For “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” Pearce picked up her second consecutive ACM Music Event of the Year in 2022 and marked the third duet between two solo women to top Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The song also took home the 2022 CMA Musical Event of the Year and won a GRAMMY® Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, marking Pearce’s first and making history as the first female pairing to win in the category. In 2023, Pearce joined Blake Shelton’s BACK TO THE HONKY TONK TOUR and made her 100th performance at the Grand Ole Opry. As she closed out that pivotal 29 chapter with her first live album 29: WRITTEN IN STONE (LIVE FROM MUSIC CITY), Pearce now steps into the next chapter of her musical career with the praised release of her latest top-30 single at AU Country Radio “we don’t fight anymore” (featuring Chris Stapleton), which earned her second GRAMMY® nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Pearce went on to release “country music made me do it,”  to critical acclaim, performing the song at the first annual People’s Choice Country Awards and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Last Fall, Pearce wrapped her headline COUNTRY MUSIC MADE ME DO IT TOUR connecting with her fans all across the US. BELLA MACKENZIE – COWBOY

Female country artist on-the-rise, Bella Mackenzie releases the first taste of brand-new music; the empowering country pop-rock crusher ‘COWBOY ‘. With its catchy guitar riff, propulsive rhythm and instant singable chorus, ‘COWBOY’ is the newcomer’s first release for Island Records Australia.

The burgeoning artist co-wrote ‘COWBOY’ alongside Mitchell Fenlon, Tamworth songwriter/producer Penrose and ARIA nominated Ryan Miller (Brad Cox, Tones & I, Angus & Julia Stone). Written with strength and pride, the infectious track pairs a motivational storyline with Bella’s dynamic vocals turning it into the ultimate kickass female country song.

“‘COWBOY’ was written to make the listener feel strong, proud and empowered. I knew I wanted to write a song that would not only pump up a festival crowd but also pump up that person sitting in their car listening”, Bella explains.

Accompanied by an official video directed by Maddy King (Vera Blue, JOY., COTERIE), the track’s visuals were filmed at Bella’s family farm in Rockhampton. A collaborative experience with Bella’s family wrangling horses, cows, and trucks, it’s a perfect encapsulation of the music that she makes, and an authentic contextualization of her groundbreaking work.

ABOUT BELLA MACKENZIE

There are few artists at 19 years of age, who are as assured, confident, and commanding in the country music scene as Mackay’s Bella Mackenzie. Growing up in the small Queensland coal mining town of Moranbah, she was inspired by artists like Kaylee Bell and Lee Kernaghan. A live concert at the age of 12 cemented her desire to become an artist, and she began writing her own music soon after.

Releasing her first original song in 2020, it didn’t take long for Bella to prove she was also a dynamic and entertaining performer. She honed her craft of playing live in pubs and bars across Australia, backing up her immersive and emotive compositions with stellar energetic live sets.

By 2021, it was evident she had hit upon something special with her music. With accolades such as being named the inaugural winner of the Groundwater CMF KIX-Start competition, and early performances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, North Queensland Rock’n Country, and Rockhampton River Festival, Bella was fast cementing herself as one to watch. Most recently she was invited to support James Johnston and Zac & George.

With her next single releases like ‘Ain’t For You’, ‘Make Me Wanna Love’, ‘Miss You No More’, and ‘1, 2, 3 You & Me’ garnering over 100,000 streams on Spotify alone, Bella’s authentic sound and singular songwriting style soon found fans with names like Adam Brand and Guy Sebastian, amongst a nascent generation of country fans.

Appealing to her generation of country fans with relatable storytelling and hook-driven melodies, Bella has also cemented herself as a fashion trendsetter with eclectic fashion style. Paired with a role as a longstanding brand ambassador for names like Wrangler, Bullzye, Pure Western, and more, it’s hard to escape her multidisciplinary approach to her craft, and her passion for creating.

Harnessing a sound that feels destined for the biggest stages in Nashville, and an arresting performing style that turns heads as quickly as it wins hearts, it’s impossible to ignore the huge heights that are in store for Bella. At the heart of it all, however, is the humble country singer who has never forgotten her dreams of being an artist.

No PROMISES – Singing My Lines

Frustrated by being overlooked in the music industry for years, Janine was compelled to write Singing My Lines.

“Dear Australian Music Industry
What do I have to do to break through and be heard?
Why does commercial radio constantly ignore new Australian talent?
Am I….too old? Too Assertive? Not pretty enough? Do I not fit your mould?
Did I not pay for plays?
Good music does not have an expiration date and neither should women in this Industry.
Just listen.

Right now I’m in my prime. I’ve never sung better or written better.
And I’ll keep releasing great songs until you have no choice but to listen.
Just listen.

Check out my previous releases with my amazing music partner Eric Collier.
Then ask yourself why our music isn’t all over the radio already.
Song writing and performing is not a choice for me; it’s ingrained in my soul. The melody flows within me, deeper than you’d ever believe.
Songs hit me in the middle of the night, when I wake up, in the shower, while I’m driving, even in the middle of gigging.
I can’t ignore them and I won’t.
I’ll keep churning them out whether you listen or not.
I’m not going away because I have something to say.
We have so many amazing artists here in Australia but the industry isn’t listening.
Thank God for community radio, the Aussie Muso’s champion.
To everyone else, play more NEW Australian content It’s time. It’s my time.”

Sincerely yours,

Janine Garvey

Max Jackson – Who You Did It With

In the lead up to her trip to CMA Fest Nashville in June, Max Jackson releases her brand new single, “Who You Did It With”. Her latest single is the follow up to the #1 hit, “Little More Country”, and the Top 10 National Country Airplay track, “Fixin’ Things”. Produced by Rod McCormack, the track was penned by Max and Nolan Wynne.

As Max describes the new single, “This is absolutely my most deep release to date. My co-writer Nolan Wynne actually came to the write with the title “Who You Did It With” and had a rough idea for the chorus already. We got talking about memories of situations that were not-so-ideal, but still really fun because of the people we had been there with.

Verse one, for example, is a real story. My now husband and I were just dating & took our first overseas holiday together to Bali. We had the best time & when our final day rolled around, we packed up, headed to the airport just to be told that we had mis-read our flight information & it had left 24 hours earlier”

It was a whole ordeal but honestly, the whole thing brought us so much closer, and we spent the night sleeping on clothes out of our bags on the airport floor, laughing at how ridiculous the whole situation was …. AND it’s still one of our favourite stories to tell now.

So underneath the dreamy pedal steel & driving guitars, the song will make you think of all your favourite people & bring home the point that, at the end of the day, or the end of it all, the most important thing in life is the people we get to spend it with.”

From humble beginnings in the small country town of Coonamble NSW (Pop. 2750), to winning Australia’s biggest country music competition (Toyota Star Maker), playing national & international Country Music Festivals, and a Golden Guitar win; the last eighteen months has been quite the ride for Australian Country Artist, Max Jackson.

MESSAGE FROM MAX:

The perfect way to set you up to hear my new song is so simple.
Think of one of your favourite memories…. got it?
Ok now think …
Was it great because of WHAT I was doing OR because of WHO I got to experience it with.
