Produced by Beau Bedford (Orville Peck, Shane Smith & The Saints) and recorded between Los Angeles and Asheville, Welcome To The Plains details Flores’ journey as he balances the struggle of leaving his hometown of Stillwater, OK with the highs and lows of life on the road. Across these 14 tracks, including songwriting collaborations with Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor and Aaron Raitiere, Flores delivers the grounded and sincere storytelling he’s celebrated for, seamlessly blending traditional country and folk sounds.

Reflecting on the project, Flores shares, “It’s an album about home and a search for happiness. It’s an album about Stillwater, Oklahoma, and all the other little towns that have raised people like you and me. It’s an album about my family, and the people and places in my life who have defined who I am today. Co-written on his recent trip to Nashville with Bill DiLuigi and Scott Barrier, “Home Town” is Will Day’s latest compelling offering. Taking a change of direction with this track, “Home Town” is a heartfelt, emotive ballad pulling on the heartstrings of the listener showcasing a more delicate side of Day’s vocals. Evoking a strong sense of imagery, “Home Town” tells the story of a person’s strong connection to the place they grew up in and whilst a lot hasn’t changed for both of them, there’s still one thing missing.

O’Shea’s musical odyssey began in childhood when family singalongs sparked her passion for music. O’Shea’s prodigious talent became increasingly undeniable, culminating in a publishing contract with James Donaldson Publishing Groups in the United States in 2014. A pivotal moment came in 2015 when she showcased her skills at the Turn Up – Sunshine Coast Music Industry’s Conference, cementing her status as a prominent singer-songwriter in the country genre.

The apex of O’Shea’s career arrived in 2020 with the release of her EP “Walk Like A Giant.” The single “Big Bang” soared into the top 10 AMRAP regional charts, marking a milestone achievement. Seek High with John Butler is the brand-new song lifted from the forthcoming album, More Life, which will be released on Friday 13thSeptember.

The Australian roots visionary has held an extraordinary career spanning three decades, over 32 albums, three ARIA Awards, a book (now in its second printing) and inclusion in the National Film and Sound Archives. His recordings and live performances have moved audiences across the globe from Japan to Geelong. New Delhi to Newcastle. His work, while based in the “roots” genre transcends and defies categorisation as evidenced in the diversity of the upcoming album, More Life.

More Life is the culmination of a few years of work, beginning with the concept of an album of songs co-written by Lang and some of his favourite artists.

Says Jeff Lang “Seek High is the first single from my new album More Life , a duet with my friend John Butler. John and I wrote this song together a few years back when I was first thinking about putting together what ended up being the More Life album, and we sat on the song until things started coming together for this project before we recorded it. I really enjoyed discovering how our two voices blended in harmony, as well as contrasting when singing on our own sections.

He then went on to say “Instrumentally, Seek High features John playing amplified banjo alongside my electric lap steel, which we recorded together with my lead vocal, live off the floor at Head Gap Studios alongside the hypnotic groove of Danny McKenna on drums. John then added his vocals, a synth bass part and I put on a bass part of my own, using a Danelectro longhorn bass. Having two different types of bass made for some effective shifts in the feel of the track between sections, sometimes moving from the bass guitar to the synth bass or vice-versa, eventually having them both at once when the track started building up steam.”

Not content with merely(!) supplying the perfect balance of moodiness and propulsion in the song’s groove on the drums, Danny McKenna also created the video for this song using a “flipbook” type of computer animation technique.

The album More Life features songs Jeff Lang co-wrote and performed with: John Butler, Liz Stringer, Don Walker, Fred Leone, Kerri Simpson, William Crighton, Suzannah Espie, Hat Fitz & Cara and Asin Khan Langa, and includes guest appearances from Bassekou Kouyate and Debashish Bhattacharya.

Renowned country artists The Bellamy Brothers and Gene Watson have joined together for a cover of the duo’s “Forever Ain’t Long Enough.” With a combined total of numerous No. 1 singles, this trio has released a “sublimely country (MusicRow)” version, which is sure to delight country music fans.

Originally released in 1990 on the Bellamy Brothers’ 14th studio album, Reality Check, this beloved song is now being reintroduced to fans as a powerful duet, given a fresh new twist with the addition of Gene Watson’s vocals. For David Bellamy, the song holds a special significance as he explains, “I wrote the song in the style of real classic country. I wanted it to sound like something that came from the Countrypolitan era, and of course, everlasting love is a favorite subject of every songwriter.”

Working with the “Love in the Hot Afternoon” singer then made sense, given their shared admiration for classicism within the country genre. “Having Gene duet with us on the song was a dream come true,” David shares. “He’s one of the few real classic country singers that understands songs like this.” Watson himself says he “was flattered” to be tapped for the new rendition, and adds that he appreciates how it feels like “real country music.”
