Wattmore – Romantic Side

Brisbane Based Cowpunk Duo Wattmore Are Back With A Killer New Single ‘Romantic Side.’

Wattmore love to bounce around the various areas of country, punk and Americana and refuse to be put in any box. The new single ‘Romantic Side’ is, if anything, more country but just as punk as ‘Circus Life’.

Their debut single ‘Circus Life’ not only won them significant airplay and made them a lot of friends in country music circles but also generated some amazing critical applause from rock and Americana press.

‘Romantic Side’ was written by the regular Wattmore songwriting team Aiden and Kai Boak, and legendary songwriter Allan Caswell. In typical Wattmore fashion ‘Romantic Side’ is a satirical and playfully vicious attack on the whole dating industry, written to a driving country beat and delivered with the, now expected, punk infused Wattmore style.

‘Romantic Side’ was produced brilliantly by Lindsay Waddington at his LWM House Studios and features his A-team of the absolute best players in Australian country music. “Everyone wants to play on a Wattmore record.”

As Allan Caswell puts it, “We have been working on the songs for the first Wattmore album, that is very much underway, for over a year and I’m really proud of the depth, quality and variety of the songs we have created. Aiden and Kai are constantly pushing the envelope in terms of feel and style and their musicality amazes me at times. Wattmore runs on energy and a refusal to accept things that irritate them … (like bigotry, stupidity and bullying). They are prepared to take on any style and any subject as long as it is cool and, above all, entertaining.”

Wattmore is a Brisbane-based duo formed by brothers Aiden and Kai. Known for their distinctive blend of alt-country, punk, and Americana, the duo draws on influences from Oasis to Waylon Jennings. Their music is raw, honest, and fearless, embodying the spirit of true musical pioneers.
