Dianne Coombes – Getting On With Getting Over You

The Wonderfully Talented Dianne Coombes Returns With An Absolute Gem ‘Getting On With Getting Over You’

‘Getting On With Getting Over You’ is a lively bluegrass song exploring the realisation that time always takes its own sweet time when it comes to healing broken hearts – it won’t be rushed. Written by Angus Gill and Jon Weisberger, this song is guaranteed to have your toes tapping.

Hi, I’m Dianne Coombes …

I have loved music and singing since I can remember. Our family get togethers were always a musical affair as all my uncles and aunt played instruments or sang, and there are recordings of me singing at these events when I was five years old.

My Dad played in dance bands all my life and I grew up invading band rehearsals at every opportunity when Mum had her back turned. I sang with my Dad’s band from the age of fourteen at all the country hall dances and balls, although I had to be sixteen before I was allowed to sing on stage at the local RSL.

I was raised and still reside at Macksville in the Nambucca Valley, a small town with a big heart. Marrying at 21, I put music on hold while starting a family. I spent four years as a single mum raising two amazing daughters which had its difficulties, but also forged my girls and I into the ‘3 Musketeers’, a bond which is still a force to be reckoned with today.

I married for a second time to the most amazing man God put breath into and he became our rock. He and my girls encouraged and supported my return to music and during this time I went from singing at local venues, to appearing at many events and festivals up and down the Coast.

In 2016 I released my debut album ‘Walk With Me’ which contained twelve songs, eight of which were originals that I felt documented my life up until that point. To my delight, it received great reviews and won prestigious awards. 2016 was also the year my darling husband died of lung cancer and my world was shattered. Music then became my refuge, and I poured myself into songwriting in an attempt to survive my grief.

My songwriting is inspired by observing nature and the beautiful place we call home as well as my own life experience, so it truly lays me open and bare in a way that I hope others can relate to. I hope they hear my songs and feel the echoes of emotions and experiences from their own lives.

Seven years further down the track, and I have just completed a body of work that I am really proud of. My new album titled ‘Ripples’ is a testament to the privilege of experiences and love in my life and the amazing vision, songwriting, and production skills of Angus Gill. It’s a country/folk album full of stories of life and love and inspiration.

I hope you enjoy and let the Ripples go on …

Hayden Phillis – Too Young

Hayden Phillis Unveils Stirring New Single ‘Too Young’ Inspired by Stories Untold.

Emerging singer-songwriter Hayden Phillis returns with ‘Too Young’, a song about deep issues, heralding the release of his upcoming debut album in early May of the same name.

While the lyrics in ‘Too Young’ are not a direct retelling of real-life events, the song was sparked by a chance meeting with a former schoolmate, whose candid conversation left a deep impact on Hayden.

“Too Young was inspired by seeing someone I hadn’t seen for a few years,” Hayden said.

“They told me about a lot of things they were struggling with during high school and why they left high school early.

“Hearing about all the things they had been going through highlighted for me how younger people can go through lots of bad things and have no one be aware of it and go under the radar. So, I wrote a song around that idea with many references to the area around where I live.”

Rather than telling one specific story, ‘Too Young’ draws on a range of tough issues, many of which vulnerable young people face. The lyrics explore themes of child homelessness, drug abuse, broken homes, toxic relationships, and the spiral that can occur when one hardship leads to another.

“It was saddening and a shock to realise they were going through all of these things that I had no idea about,” Hayden said.

“It is such a pressing issue, so I wanted to add a more personal side to it in song.”

Written solely by Hayden, ‘Too Young’ is a reminder of the hidden battles many young people face – and how important it is to remain aware and compassionate.

“I want ‘Too Young’ to acknowledge how real these issues are and how you don’t really know how your friends are doing and I hope it might make people be more aware of what people might be experiencing around them,” he said.

The forthcoming ‘Too Young’ album is a deeply personal project, with several songs drawing from Hayden’s own life, including struggles with epilepsy and loss of faith and stories inspired by those around him.

“The album definitely has a couple of songs that hit home with those more personal issues – songs about my childhood epilepsy, internal struggles with religion, drug abuse, and homelessness for young people,” he said.

“With this album especially, I wanted to focus more on topics that are important.”

The album was recorded at Rabbit Hole Recording Studios with Brandon Dodd – a setting that captured the energy and emotion of live performance.

“It was pretty incredible to record with him and he and Kasey Chambers’ studio,” Hayden said.

‘Too Young’ is available now on all streaming platforms. The album will follow in early May.

Travis Collins – Dirty Money

Following a massive year in 2023, achieving the highest charting Australian country album of the year with ‘Any Less Anymore’, Travis Collins has charged into 2025 with the release of his 10th full length release, The Band Album. This release is off the back of his performance at Australia’s largest country music festival, CMC Rocks; and separate headline album launch show dates in March 2025.

As Travis discusses, “When I started thinking about recording this new album, I was searching for a fresh and different approach to anything I’d done before. It seemed ironic and crazy to me that I’d never actually recorded or ‘created’ music with the people who’ve played the most music with me, for most of my career – my touring band. That realisation floored me, curiosity immediately turned to creative excitement. ‘The Band Album’ was born.

In many ways, it felt like I was recording my first album. There was an entirely new energy, creativity, and enthusiasm that really shines through on this album. I hold the songs, the memories of creating them, and the entire experience very close to my heart. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

To coincide with the album, Travis drops the latest single from the new studio album, Dirty Money. This single is the follow up to the previously released tracks, Good Thing Comin’, Different Dreams and Don’t Get Me Started. Recorded with Jared Adlam in his Queensland studio, Dirty Money is about those end of hard earned working week vibes.

ABOUT TRAVIS COLLINS:

Launching his career in 2004 as a Toyota Starmaker winner, Travis Collins has had an incredible journey in country music. With nine albums released to date, he hit new highs with his 2023 album, ‘Any Less Anymore’. That release became the highest charting Australian country album of 2023, debuting at #3 on the ARIA All-Genre Album chart and #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart.

With his soulful voice and earthy sound, Travis Collins is considered one of Australia’s finest country music artists. He has a unique gift of piloting both heartfelt ballads and supercharged country-rock floor-fillers. The nine-time Golden Guitar Award winner (including 3 x Male Artist of the Year), four-time CMC Award winner and CMA Global Artist Award winner has toured alongside US megastars Tim McGraw and Luke Combs and his catalogue and various projects have amassed over forty million streams.

Ian Burns – Just One Minute

Ian Burns embraces life’s precious moments in ‘Just One Minute’

Singer-songwriter Ian Burns releases his latest single, ‘Just One Minute’, a song inspired by life’s fragility and the importance of cherishing time with loved ones, on March 28.

Written during a deeply personal time, ‘Just One Minute’ was influenced by Ian’s own experience of being diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma – a stark reminder of how precious life is.

“Being with the ones you love and your friends is of utmost importance,” Ian said.

“Making sure you get that time with them as much as you can – that became a priority for me.”

Apple Music has embraced the song on release, adding it to their Aussie Country and New In Country playlists.

Despite its deeply personal inspiration, ‘Just One Minute’ is an upbeat, feel-good song.

“I like upbeat songs myself, even though I tend to write a lot of slower music,” Ian said.

“I love playing the upbeat ones live. This one has some undertones about getting balance in life and making time for things that matter and that is our loved ones and the joy in our lives – that’s what really matters.”

The song also captures the unpredictability of life.

“We don’t know what’s around the corner – sometimes it’s tough, but sometimes it’s absolutely incredible,” Ian said.

“Life can be beautiful when you’ve got your friends and loved ones by your side.”

“My diagnosis never got me down, it sure rattled my cage, but I thought, ‘okay, how do I approach everything from here?’. What I try to do daily is look for the beauty and joy in everything, even in the tough times.”

Ian’s excited to perform ‘Just One Minute’ live and is looking forward to bringing it to audiences soon in solo performances and with his new band.

“I hope people enjoy it – it’s a fun song, and I’m going to be playing a lot more live with the band this year,” he said.

To celebrate the release, ‘Just One Minute’ will be launched with a special Sunday session at the Clarendon Tavern on March 30. Looking ahead, Ian is planning to return to the studio to record a new collection of songs.

This project was made possible by the Regional Arts Fund, an Australian Government program that supports sustainable cultural development in regional and remote communities in Australia. The program is managed by Regional Arts Australia and administered in NSW by Regional Arts NSW.

Dean Young – Blue Tequila Nights

ANNOUNCING A NEW SINGLE FROM DEAN YOUNG – INDEPENDENT CANADIAN SINGER | SONGWRITER | MUSICIAN

‘Blue Tequila Nights’ will be released to public on Friday March 28th 2025
100% CanCon and is in the style of country R & B, country roots, country blues
It is available now for Apple and Amazon preorder.

Dean says: I am super proud to announce the release of my new single coming Friday March 28th, 2025. It’s a co-write with my sister Maureen and produced by the incredibly talented Jason Barry of Barrytone Studios. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am so blessed to be able to work with him. He is a monster talent and he always pulls the best out of me! My sister and I were introduced to a tequila that’s actually blue in colour “Tarantula Azul Tequila” by a good friend in Ohio. She likes tequila and blue being her favourite colour it was an instant hit! During the onset of the pandemic we joked about writing a song about that tequila. She later sent me an audio clip of her playing piano and singing a chorus. She intended it only as a joke but, the moment I heard it, I told her that’s a great song idea!

  • The guitar solo performed by Jason Barry is an awesome, self described “happy accident”.

Cali Tucker – Urban Cowboy

Award-Winning Country Artist, Cali Tucker, is back with a new single and video, Urban Cowboy. Urban Cowboy received a limited release last summer with Holler Country calling it “a peppy pop country fantasy dancefloor filler” and since then the single and music video have been streamed over 500,000 times.

Urban Cowboy is the embodiment of all the fairytales I grew up with,” Cali Tucker says. “The video tells the story of a young girl who is transported to a magical land filled with mythical creatures, none of whom ever encountered the Urban Cowboy. Together, they embark on a journey to help her find him. It’s a tale filled with hope, adventure, humor, and the relentless pursuit of love – a true romantic comedy at heart.” Keeping things in the family, the video feature Cali’s mom, 70’s country star LaCosta Tucker, and Cali’s niece, Adelin Tucker.

Cali Tucker, described last summer by People Magazine as “a blend of sweet and sassy…addictive” , has had a phenomenal year by any measure. Her music has amassed millions of streams on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. She performed the National Anthem for NASCAR’s Penzoil 400 in front of eighty thousand racing fans and to an estimated television audience of three million. Her music video, Country Couture, has become the darling of film festivals around the globe, including the New York International Film Awards, LA Film Awards, ARFF Paris, Accolade Global Film Awards, Onirus Film Awards, IndieX Film Awards, and The Las Vegas Music Video Awards where it won 4 trophies (Best Female Vocalist, Best Country Video, Best Song, and overall Judges’ Choice).

Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Cali Tucker’s journey into the spotlight began early. At fifteen, she earned the title of Miss Teen All American and made her Grand Ole Opry debut at age 18. She rose to national prominence on Season 6 of NBC’s The Voice under the mentorship of Blake Shelton. Now, as a Las Vegas headliner, she continues to push boundaries and redefine what it means to be a modern country artist.

Shanleigh Rose – We’re Not Friends

Shanleigh Rose – Sings of Heartbreak

And A Not So Friendly Love In Her Latest Single “We’re Not Friends”

In a multiplicity of breakup anthems, Shanleigh Rose’s “We’re Not Friends” makes its mark, capturing the hostile aftermath following the end of a not-so-friendly young love. A little bit country, a little bit pop, and just a touch of livid. ‘We’re Not Friends’ is the catchy reminder you need that your ex is NOT your friend. “Cause friends don’t lie and lead you on.”

Shanleigh Rose is truly establishing herself in the music industry. Her new single, “We’re Not Friends,” will resonate with anyone who has experienced the fallout of a tumultuous relationship. The song explores the emotional landscape of post-breakup hostility,

blending elements of country and pop with a raw and intense edge.

This powerful anthem reminds us that not all relationships need to transition into friendships. With poignant lyrics such as “Cause friends don’t lie and lead you on,” Shanleigh Rose effectively captures the essence of her message with compelling honesty.
“Often, people think they can treat you carelessly and have the audacity to try and call you a friend afterwards. In my case, this someone was an ex. I’ve learnt that self-respect and knowing what’s best for you are so much more important than letting your emotions allow the wrong kind of people to stay in your life.” Mention Shanleigh

The realisation only came after Shanleigh had finished penning the song. It was a hard lesson to learn, but I got a pretty cool song out of it. Shanleigh hopes “We’re Not Friends” will empower others to recognise their self-worth and determine who can call themself a friend.
