Max Jackson – Hold My Horses

Current Golden Guitar winner for Best New Talent, Max Jackson releases her brand new single, “Hold My Horses”. Her latest single is the follow up to the #1 hit, “Little More Country”, and her Top 10 National Country Airplay tracks, “Fixin’ Things” and “Who You Did It With”. Produced by Rod McCormack, the track was penned by Max with George and Amy Sheppard.

As Max describes the new single, “I wrote this one with Amy & George Sheppard from Aus Pop Trio “Sheppard”. Obviously with big, catchy hits like “Geronimo”, I knew as soon as I locked in this write, I wanted to go for something really fun, upbeat and catchy… with that “sing-along” vibe that they’re incredible at writing”.

“I think this is the quickest song I’ve ever been a part of writing. I woke up the morning of the session with pretty much the chorus written in my head, took it in hoping they would like the idea, everyone was instantly into the vibe; we jumped in and in 40 minutes, Hold My Horses was completely finished”.

“Anyone who knows me, knows I’m the world’s most impatient person. When I’m after something, whether it be love or anything in life – I’m all in or all out. So I just love that this song captures who I am so well and is also really fun to play. I already know this is gonna be such a moment in my live show and with so many big festivals and shows coming up, I just can’t wait to get out and play it”.

Max is currently performing shows around Australia. She is playing a number of festivals and is also travelling around the country as a special guest on two national tours. She continues on The Wolfe Brothers ‘Still Livin’ The Dream Tour’ and has also been invited to play on all of Canadian country music star Gord Bamford’s shows when he tours in October and November.

ABOUT MAX JACKSON:

From humble beginnings in the small country town of Coonamble NSW (Pop. 2750), to winning Australia’s biggest country music competition (Toyota Star Maker), playing national & international Country Music Festivals, and a Golden Guitar win for New Talent; the last eighteen months has been quite the ride for Australian Country Artist, Max Jackson.

Slim Dusty – Gone Truckin’

He’s known universally as Australia’s King of Country, and it’s a title to which Slim Dusty can lay an unchallenged claim.

Slim Dusty has been recognized not only for his music but also for his role in documenting Australia’s unique spirit and history through song, as well as his contributions to Australian culture and society. He received both an MBE and an Order of Australia, was chosen as an Australian National Living Treasure by public vote, and in 1999 was named both Australia’s Father of the Year and the inaugural Senior Australian of the Year.

During his lifetime, Slim released more than a hundred albums, selling over seven million records and earning more than 70 gold and platinum album certifications. Running through this unparalleled catalogue is a rich seam of common themes, with Slim Dusty’s songs about trucking being particularly prominent.

Gone Truckin’ collects 24 such songs about trucking – drawn from all eras of Slim’s illustrious and prolific recording career. The album highlights well-known classics like ‘Dieseline Dreams’ and Joy McKean’s ‘Lights On The Hill’ alongside hidden gems such as ‘Three Hundred Horses’ and ‘The Lady Is A Truckie’. It evokes the rich lyrical imagery and powerful storytelling that are Slim Dusty’s trademark.

In 1997, Slim Dusty embarked on a memorable journey across the Nullarbor Plain, driving a T900 Kenworth road train under the guidance of Keith Thompson from Thompson Transport. Slim felt there was no better way of getting into the spirit for his new truck album ‘Makin A Mile’ than to travel across the Nullarbor Plain in a big road train. The song ‘Haulin’ for the Double T’ honours Keith and his transport company and was one of many songs inspired by the trip. The T900 Kenworth Slim drove has since become a cherished piece of history, now honoured in the Kenworth Dealer Hall of Fame in Alice Springs.

Presented in a full-colour 12″ sleeve featuring new original artwork from acclaimed artist and designer Dave Homer, and pressed onto 2 x 180 gram Eucalypt Green vinyl discs, this collection is a must-have for Slim Dusty fans.

Paying tribute to truckies and their vital role in keeping Australia moving Gone Truckin’ will be released on Friday, October 4th, leading up to the Lights On the Hill Memorial Convoy weekend at Gatton QLD on October 5th and also the service at the Australian Truck Drivers Memorial Wall at Tarcutta NSW on October 28th. Both of these events honour and remember truck drivers who have lost their lives whilst driving or working.

Rising country artist Wyatt Flores’ new song, “Oh Susannah,” is out now alongside a powerful music video. Listen to the song HERE and watch the video HERE.

Reflecting on the song, Flores shares, “The story behind this song is just me having to take a mental break back in February and coming back to it all realizing that I need to take care of myself before I can even think about taking care of others, and that’s all I ever wanted to do. So I did have to take a step back and this song is an apology from me to my fans.”

“Oh Susannah” is the latest track unveiled from Flores’ highly anticipated full-length debut album, Welcome To The Plains, which will be released October 18 on Island Records (pre-order/pre-save here). It’s an album about Stillwater, Oklahoma, and all the other little towns that have raised people like you and me. It’s an album about my family, and the people and places in my life who have defined who I am today. This album is happy on one side and heartbreak on the other, and whoever you are, I hope you find something you love in here.”

Written by Paisley, Chris Dubois, Will Bundy, Hunter Phelps and Rodney Clawson, and produced by Luke Wooten and Paisley.

‘Truck Still Works’ is an ode to one of the biggest hits of his career, ‘Mud On The Tires’ which he wrote with Dubois and became a #1 single in 2005.

‘Truck Still Works’ is one of many songs Brad has written lately that has new inspired an entirely new album to come.

Toby May – Tonight

I wrote “Tonight” in 1996 in about 30 minutes. I was about 16 years old…just sorta flowed out on to the paper.

It has had a few lyrical changes over the years, having been recorded a few times on a much smaller scale than now.

In 2021 I decided to cut the song again with guidance of my producer Kenny Royster of Ken Royster Productions in Nashville. With Kenny, and the amazing talent of sone of the very best studio musicians in the world, Tonight evolved into the record it is today.

I’m very proud of this record and I’m looking forward to sharing it with the world.
