Max Jackson – Who You Did It With

In the lead up to her trip to CMA Fest Nashville in June, Max Jackson releases her brand new single, “Who You Did It With”. Her latest single is the follow up to the #1 hit, “Little More Country”, and the Top 10 National Country Airplay track, “Fixin’ Things”. Produced by Rod McCormack, the track was penned by Max and Nolan Wynne.

As Max describes the new single, “This is absolutely my most deep release to date. My co-writer Nolan Wynne actually came to the write with the title “Who You Did It With” and had a rough idea for the chorus already. We got talking about memories of situations that were not-so-ideal, but still really fun because of the people we had been there with.

Verse one, for example, is a real story. My now husband and I were just dating & took our first overseas holiday together to Bali. We had the best time & when our final day rolled around, we packed up, headed to the airport just to be told that we had mis-read our flight information & it had left 24 hours earlier”

It was a whole ordeal but honestly, the whole thing brought us so much closer, and we spent the night sleeping on clothes out of our bags on the airport floor, laughing at how ridiculous the whole situation was …. AND it’s still one of our favourite stories to tell now.

So underneath the dreamy pedal steel & driving guitars, the song will make you think of all your favourite people & bring home the point that, at the end of the day, or the end of it all, the most important thing in life is the people we get to spend it with.”

From humble beginnings in the small country town of Coonamble NSW (Pop. 2750), to winning Australia’s biggest country music competition (Toyota Star Maker), playing national & international Country Music Festivals, and a Golden Guitar win; the last eighteen months has been quite the ride for Australian Country Artist, Max Jackson.

MESSAGE FROM MAX:

The perfect way to set you up to hear my new song is so simple.
Think of one of your favourite memories…. got it?
Ok now think …
Was it great because of WHAT I was doing OR because of WHO I got to experience it with.

ABOUT CHANCEY

Saddle Bronc athlete turned neo-traditional country music sensation Chancey Williams has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage. As one of only two artists (Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®, Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music.

Growing up on a ranch in the northeastern corner of Wyoming, Williams is one of the proud few hailing from Moorcroft, WY – a town so small it doesn’t need stoplights. Rodeo, wrestling, and academic talents took him first to Casper College and then to the University of Wyoming. Chancey earned several degrees, including a Master’s in Public Administration, but it was music and the camaraderie of the road that continues to take him all over the United States.

Chancey was named iHeartRadio’s 2022 Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year. Williams also won Songwriter of the Year for “The Saint” and Album of the Year for his most recent record produced with country hitmaker, Trent Wilmon, 3rd Street. Last year also brought multiple dates with Parker McCollum, the PBR Tour, and an appearance at Cheyenne Frontier Days with Dierks Bentley. Chancey returned to Las Vegas, performing on national television opening the 5th round of the National Finals Rodeo and headlining the main showroom at South Point, “ground zero” at the most important rodeo event in the world.

His 2024 tour includes Williams’ debut performance at The Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, a headlining spot at the Black Hills Stock, and a return to the Grand Ole Opry.

Chloe Styler – Read A Room

After her dreamy hit ‘Time Bomb’ raced to #26 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay charts, Chloe Styler is back with a new single. The singer-songwriter cleverly navigates heartbreak on, ‘Read a Room’.

Celebrated for her innovative take on pop country, Chloe employs her regular calling cards on ‘Read a Room’; warm synth tones and spacious guitars, swirling around Chloe’s sugary vocals. This time her usual sprightly performance is peppered with a touch of melancholy, as she pinpoints the collapse of a relationship. “If you ain’t gonna say it baby I can break it to myself / I can read a room.”

Sitting in a writing session at Liz Rose Music Publishing House in Nashville TN, Chloe Styler was living the dream, but the catch is… she was also living a nightmare. Lo and behold she was being ghosted by a guy 9000 miles away. Rather than calling the guy out for his ‘bad behaviour’, she took the idea to collaborators Lauren McLamb & Phil Barton and put everything she’d say to him in a song.

“While I was in the process of being ghosted, I found myself saying the same thing to my friends… something along the lines of “this guy is so lucky that I know how to read a room”. Although it hurt at the time I’ve come to realise that he did me a favour in the long run!”

The songbird enlisted Grammy award winning producer Luke Wooten to bring her words to life. There in Station West Studios in Nashville, they tracked three new songs. “This was my first time recording in Nashville, Tennessee and I feel so fortunate to have had such an incredible experience! Luke Wooten is an incredible producer who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for a few years now. So, it was great to finally be in the studio working on this song with him and the band.”

The vision for the song’s video came to life with help from Chloe’s sister, Amy. “A few months ago, my sister and I sat down and created a few Pinterest boards for upcoming releases – one of those boards was for ‘Read a Room’.” The clip captures Chloe adrift in an armchair on a sea of wildflowers – a perfectly simple visual to support the song’s clever lyricism.

“Amy and I scoured Facebook Marketplace for the perfect vintage chair, and I can’t believe the bargain we snapped up! I’m really proud of this clip and I’m even more proud to have created this with my sister.”

The songwriter’s unique brand of music has made serious waves recently. While her previous single ‘Time Bomb’ soared to #26 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay charts it also received additions to Spotify’s US ‘New Music Daily Country’ editorial playlist and Apple Music’s ‘Little More Country’, ‘Country Risers’ and ‘Aussie Country’ editorial playlists.

In one of her biggest years on the stage she opened for 7 x Grammy award winner Gladys Knight, Nik Kershaw and Go West, Shannon Noll and Taylor Henderson. She’s set to perform at Country on Keppel Festival in June, after performing at various songwriters showcases in Nashville this month.

Without a doubt, Chloe Styler is a star on the rise in country music. Pumping out hit after hit with her innovative sound and deft lyricism – if you can read a room – you know she’s going places.

Gavin Mac – Sideswiped

A swaggering alt country ode to misadventures, the brand new single “Sideswiped” from Sydney-based country sensation Gavin Mac is a slick follow up from Mac’s 2023 trio of singles, “Bushfire”, “Live Your Life” and “Getaway”. Also marking a further glimpse into Mac’s impending debut album, “Make You Feel” set for release in September, “Sideswiped” is a crisp outing as well as a meaningful full circle moment for the talented artist.

Produced by multi CMAA and ARIA Award winner Matt Fell, “Sideswiped” welds Mac’s effortless combination of nostalgic country licks, with rock, folk and soul hues linked alongside nods to Chris Stapleton, Eric Clapton, Midland, and John Mayer. Summed up by Mac himself as being “like mechanical bull riding”, “Sideswiped” evolved from a demo that first drew Mac to the attention of Sony Music Australia as a teenager, as Mac explains, “I first penned, then demoed Sideswiped when I was just 16 years old. The demo helped me capture the attention of Sony Music Australia, who ultimately signed me. By the time the deal was done, I had grown a bit older, and moved to a different place musically, so the song (and I) got shelved. It wasn’t until years later that I dug it out, rewrote it and recorded it properly for the first time, with Matt Fell, and incredible guitarist, Ben Butler.”

Teaming up with Grammy Award winner William Bowden on mastering duties, “Sideswiped” also features Mac’s effortless vocals and earworm choruses along with guitarist extraordinaire Ben Butler (Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Suzanne Vega) on lead guitar, culminating in a track built both for sun-soaked highway road trips and hazy whiskey bars; or, as Mac reveals, to also soundtrack those days where things go from bad to worse. “I love classic cars, so I’m pretty sure there was a subconscious desire to write a song that featured one,” shares Mac. “The story itself though, is one of misadventure mixed with a dollop of bad karma. A bit like something out of a Quentin Tarantino flick, the (fictional character, loosely based on yours truly) has the proverbial day from hell, that starts off a mess and just gets worse, and with every turn. We all have those kinds of days…right?

Discovered at the age of 16 by Sony Music’s Denis Handlin and John Watson, Gavin Mac quickly gained the title of being Sony Music Australia’s youngest-ever Australian recording artist at the time. Evolving his music industry skills and knowledge in the years to follow, Mac worked alongside both international and iconic Australian artists, including previous work with Nickelback, Queens of the Stone Age, Linda & Vika Bull, and Alex Lloyd. And from managing A&R duties for Roadrunner Records to stepping back from the industry to raise his family, Mac still kept his creative fires alive, co-founding the award-winning brand experience agency Urban, conceiving and delivering marketing campaigns for Electronic Arts, Airbnb, and Netflix.

With years away from music, a fortuitous 2019 road trip to the Tamworth Country Music festival provided the very kindling that would ultimately turn Mac’s gaze firmly back to his passions, songwriting and storytelling, with the Melbourne-hailing singer-songwriter emerging from his musical hiatus with gusto in 2023 balancing renewed purpose, perspective and the powerful drive that comes with unfinished business. In 2023, Mac released his debut solo singles “Getaway”, “Live Your Life” and “Bushfire”, amassing over 300K streams and counting, with 2024 also garnering Mac his first industry nod, taking home the Tamworth Music Association’s 2024 New Songwriter of the Year. Now poised to release his long-awaited debut album, “Make You Feel” on September 5, Mac’s latest single “Sideswiped” is the perfect appetiser, providing a full-bodied taste of the dynamic sound and depth of songwriting lying in wait later this year; and there will also be plenty of good vibes in the mix when Mac takes the stage with his new material in Northcote and Waverley in June, as Mac concludes: “I love fans and people who discover me at my shows to feel like they’ve just been invited into a party with their close mates. No egos, lots of chatter and songs you can stomp along to.”

Travis Denning – Roads That Go Nowhere

Mercury Nashville recording artist Travis Denning’s debut album, Roads That Go Nowhere, is out now. The Paul DiGiovanni and Jeremy Stover produced album features 15 tracks, 12 of which were co-written by Denning. It also includes features by HARDY and Josh Ross. Directed by Justin Clough, the music video for the song “Southern Rock,” featuring HARDY, is also out today.

Denning shares exclusively with People “The story [of the album’s title track] is a picture into my life and the roads that went nowhere that I went down, and the roads that went somewhere that I’m still on. I knew when I wrote that song that was it going to be the theme [of the album]. So whether it was life, love, heartbreak, happiness, marriage, where I come from, all those corners of life, I wanted to share all the ones that I had been down. It’s very reflective.”

Adds Denning about the track “Southern Rock,” which features his friend HARDY, “This record’s about really dropping it on the ground of who I am and this song is the closest to a three minute, thirty-second autobiography that I can write.”
