Emerging Central Queensland artist Mack Geiger is making his mark on Australia’s country music scene with the release of his debut single, “About Time”. The song captures the gut-punch moment when love slips away, leaving nothing but a barstool, a George Jones record, and the sting of heartbreak. “About Time is a song about that gut-punch moment when you realise loves slipped away, but then realising you were probably punching above your weight anyways. It’s a humbling song of accepting that you had a good stint while you had it, but the hurt’s been a long time coming.”
Mack Geiger grew up on cattle stations in Central Queensland, where the rugged landscape and country lifestyle shaped his musical identity. Drawing inspiration from traditional and ’90s country, he blends old-school authenticity with a fresh, modern perspective. His distinctive voice and heartfelt lyrics have resonated with audiences across Australia, setting him apart as a compelling new voice in country music.
2024 was a breakout year for Mack, solidifying his status as a rising star. He took home top honors at the prestigious Ekka Country Music Showdown and Maleny Country Stars competition, and has since shared stages with country music favourites including Dylan Wright, Sara Berki, and Tyla Rodrigues. His performances have captivated audiences from major city venues to remote country towns, showcasing his ability to connect with fans no matter the setting.
With an electrifying stage presence, Mack has delivered standout performances at major events such as the inaugural Lasso Country Music Festival, Meatstock Toowoomba 2024, Gympie Music Muster, and Nebo Hotel’s Street Party. This year, he is set to take the stage at Countryfest, Brisbane’s Town and Country Festival, and Lasso Country Music Festival once again. Adding to his list of career highlights, Mack was personally invited by Troy Cassar-Daleyto join him on stage at TRECC in Tamworth, performing a powerful duet of Cassar-Daley’s hit River Boy-a moment Mack describes as “hard to beat” in kicking off his 2025 season.
