“I was thinking a lot about life, about getting older, and the concept of being present.”
As the former principal songwriter and co-producer of Darlinghurst, Jason Resch was instrumental in crafting the group’s distinctive sound – earning a #1 ARIA Country Album and a Golden Guitar Award. In August 2025, he stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist with the release of his debut single ‘Talk Of The Town’.Jason began his songwriting career at 18 with UK hitmakers Xenomania, co-writing chart-topping singles for Girls Aloud , Alesha Dixon, and The Saturdays. More recently, he has collaborated with local artists including co-writing ‘Hometown Love’ by Taylor Sheridan and producing the debut single ‘Up Jump The River’ by James C. Atkins. His songwriting approach blends spontaneity with discipline: “When that balance is just right, that’s when the ideas I get excited about start appearing.” Jason states.Jason’s new song, ‘Tomorrow In My Arms’, emerged after a week of persistence in the studio-turning up each day, even when inspiration or confidence was hard to find. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, the song arrived, a reminder that creativity rewards those who keep showing up.Jason explains the story behind ‘Tomorrow In My Arms’; “At the time I wrote ‘Tomorrow In My Arms’ I was thinking a lot about life, about getting older, and the concept of being present. I was listening to a lot of Gordon Lightfoot, reading different books, and just observing everyday things that we do. Although I don’t usually tend to sit down and make a conscious intention to write a song about a particular concept, that’s what was kind of going on in the background at that time and the ideas then start naturally manifesting itself, and I start paying attention”.
