Australian siblings Katelyn, Liam, and Kasey O’Donoghue, known as Homegrown Trio, are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated new single, “You Fall”.
“We wrote this song back in 2020 with Justin Ebach over zoom! It was the middle of Covid lockdown – we were still living in our hometown in Australia and Justin was over in Nashville so songwriting over zoom became the new normal. We would write at crazy hours of the day to make it work with the time difference in the States. This was the first session we ever had with Ebach – we wrote the song, recorded our vocals and sent them over to Justin for him to make a quick demo and we fell in love with the song! You Fall was the first song we recorded with Nathan Chapman after moving to Nashville in 2021, so it’s been a long time coming.”
Homegrown Trio, raised on a million-acre cattle station in Australia, have taken their deep country roots and fused them with pop melodies to create a unique, modern sound. Forming in 2010, the group became a household name after their rendition of “Fast Cars” on The Voice Australia went viral in 2018, amassing over 1 million views and catching the attention of global stars such as Kelly Rowland, Delta Goodrem, Boy George, and Joe Jonas.
In 2021, the siblings made a bold move to Nashville, the heart of country music, and their career has skyrocketed ever since. Within months of their arrival, they secured an opening spot on the Jonas Brothers’ Remember This US tour, alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Jordan McGraw. Their journey then continued with the signing of a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music Nashville, leading to a whirlwind year of writing with some of the most prestigious songwriters in the industry.
Homegrown Trio’s success has been bolstered by collaborations with Grammy and CMAAward-winning producers, including Dann Huff (Keith Urban), Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), and Joy Williams (The Civil Wars). Their debut single “Heartbreaker”, released in April 2024, climbed to #7 on the CountryTown Hot 50 Airplay Chart and #6 on the KIX Country Hottest 20. The momentum continued with their follow-up singles, including “Love a Little” and “Call it Magic”, with the latter peaking at #9 on the CountryTown Hot 50 and spending seven weeks on the KIX Country Hottest 20.
