LaCosta Tucker rose to fame in the seventies scoring fourteen chart hits, touring with music’s biggest names (Charlie Rich, Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, etc.) and appearing on beloved TV shows like Dolly, Nashville Now, The Jim Nabors Show, The Tommy Hunter Show, Pop Goes the Country, The Alan Hamel Show, The Dinah Shore Show, and Hee Haw. Born in Seminole, Texas, LaCosta grew up in a hardworking family led by her parents, Beau Tucker and Juanita Tucker. LaCosta loved Country Music from childhood, winning her first talent contest at just four years old. She performed in a band called The Country Westerners, entered beauty pageants, and eventually earned a degree from Cochise College in Arizona. She continued singing in clubs and was crowned Miss Country Music, Phoenix.In the early seventies, LaCosta met legendary publisher Al Gallico and signed with Capitol Records where she teamed with Producer Norro Wilson for five albums. Her debut hit, I Wanna Get to You, reached #25 on the country charts, followed by Get on My Love Train (#3) and He Took Me for a Ride (#10). She released five albums with Capitol and earned Academy of Country Music nominations for Most Promising Female Vocalist in 1975 and 1976. In 1982, she joined Elektra Records, produced by James Stroud, charting again with Love Take It Easy on Me.Today, LaCosta divides her time between Nashville and Las Vegas, embracing her most cherished role as “Momma” to daughter Cali (a rising Country Star who has featured LaCosta in her three music videos) and son Zach (an Aerospace Engineer), and as proud grandmother to Adelin. LaCosta occasionally joins Cali onstage (recently appearing atAliante Casino in Las Vegas and Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon), delighting fans with her classic hit Get on My Love Train. The duo is working together for the first time and has more plans to collaborate in the future. They look forward to meeting their fans and friends on the road. “I’m not a stranger to anyone,” LaCosta says, “I’m just a friend you haven’t met yet”.
