Australia’s rising country-pop singer-songwriter Bella Mackenzie is forging her own path with a fresh approach to modern country music. Following the success of fan-favourite single ‘GIRL’, and ‘Second Hand Dust’ Bella continues her momentum with the release of her latest single, ‘Neon Never Lies’.
‘Neon Never Lies’ is a modern country trap song about knowing your partner is cheating before they ever admit it. The song follows a woman who knows exactly what’s happening when her partner is out at the bar. He thinks he can hide behind late nights, drinks and neon lights, but she knows the truth always comes out eventually because the neon never lies. The cinematic country guitar tones combined with Bella’s raspy and raw vocals, make this story hit so much harder.
Born in Rockhampton, and raised in a family that owned the local pub, Bella Mackenzie cut her teeth performing live in front of pub crowds and has since become one of the country’s most entertaining live acts. Having recently supported US country singer Riley Green, and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jake Banfield, along with performances at CMC Rocks, Julia Creek Dirt N Dust Festival, and Tamworth Country Music Festival, Bella has also been announced to perform at Savannah In The Round, Deni Ute Muster in October and Meatstock in 2027.
Nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the 2026 Country Town Awards, Bella Mackenzie has amassed more than 5.5 million global streams across her catalogue, achieved four Top 10 Country Radio hits and continues to grow her social audience.
